Here are five awesome digital pin-up art tutorial videos I found from around the web.
1. 1950’s Pin Up: Photoshop Retouching Tutorial (Seen above)
This is a great video tutorial from Photoshop instructor Howard Pinsky, where he shows you how to use layer effects and fiters to get that sweet vintage look.
2. How to create a pinup model or Vargas style picture with Photoshop
Another vintage effect style tutorial by CCGSales where he uses some similar layering and filtering to get that “Vargas Look.”
3. Autodesk Sketchbook Pro 6 : Cherry Pinup 065
Paris Christou has a ton of awesome pinup tutorials and drawing courses via his company ToonboxStudio. Here is a speed paint video of him drawing his infamous Cherry Pinup using a Wacom Cintiq and Sketchbook Pro.
4. How to Make Amazing 3D Pin-Up Art Video 1 – Getting Started
This video is a FREE preview of the first video “Getting Started” from my new video course called How to Make Amazing 3D Pin Up Art. (Ok, shameless self promotion, but I think it’s a good one and full of useful info.)
5. Cute Pin-up Speed Painting (week 21) by DrakePin-up
Another speed painting video from the awesome Scot Drake.
Know of any cool video tutorials?
Most of the videos I found were speed painting videos, and I was surprised that there weren’t more actual “hands on” tutorials out there.
If you are an artist, you might consider doing some. If you do any or know of any good ones, let me know and i’ll definitely post them here. Enjoy!
